Participation in person is by invitation and subsequent prior registration only. All registered participants are obliged to present a formal identification document to be admitted to the event (valid passport or identity card). Online participation on this website, including the possibility to ask questions, is open to everyone.

Please be aware that due to local weather conditions that include snow, wet snow and/or rain, it is advisable to wear warm clothes and boots while visiting Tallinn in February. To feel comfortable at the venue we strongly suggest changing the boots into indoor shoes. The venue has a variety of felt slippers in case of forgetting to take the shoes.

Interpretation

Language of the event will be English. There will be no interpretation during the event.

Arrival and Departure

Participants are kindly requested to make their own travel arrangements and it is advisable to arrive on 12 February 2019. The Lennart Meri Tallinn Airport is the main international airport in Estonia. It takes only up to 10 minutes to get from the airport to the hotel by taxi, and vice versa.

It will take approx. 20 minutes from the airport to the launch venue. However, during certain hours (between 4-6 p.m. on business days) it would be advisable to plan for longer travel times in case of traffic jams.

Taxis are available 24/7 at taxi stops located in the front of the airport’s building and in front of the hotels. The estimated fare for the 10-minute taxi ride would be around 7-8 Euros. You are entitled to request the receipt from the driver.

Accomodation

Organizers have not made any provisional bookings, thus participants are kindly requested to make their own hotel arrangements.

Telecommunication network

The GSM mobile phone system is available; please check compatibility with your operator. Mobile Prepaid Service SIM Cards (Simpel, Smart,Zen, Diil) from different local mobile operators are available at most newsstands and supermarkets.

Internet

There are over 300 free wireless Internet zones around the city, including Old Town squares, concert halls, pubs and restaurants.

Currency

National currency is Euro. Larger hotels, stores and restaurants accept Visa, MasterCard, Eurocard, Diner’s Club and American Express. However, it is advisable to carry some cash with you. Traveler’s cheques can be exchanged in most banks, but are less likely to be accepted in shops. There is plenty of banks in Tallinn that can be easily found. Most of them are opened from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays, while some offices are also opened on Saturday mornings. All banks offer currency exchange services. Exchange points can also be found in larger hotels, airport, harbour, railroad station and major shopping centres.

Language

Estonia’s official language is Estonian. English, Russian and Finnish are also understood and widely spoken.
